This site is in celebration of our trip to Tuscany in September of 2000. This group of folks spent the last year planning and organizing the trip, and beginning September 16th, it came to pass.

Walk though these pages and join in the memories of good times in Italy.

You look out over the Tuscan landscape from almost any of the hilltop towns. This one is Pienza.  Unfortunately, we did not get here, so I guess we will have to return.

We had been to Tuscany before. We visited Florence and Sienna. We even rented a car and drove through the area.   But, this trip was different. Staying at Montestigliano gave the trip a completely different quality.

What strikes us most about Tuscany is it’s intensity.  The colors are intense. The food is intense. The wine is intense.

Being from the Pacific Northwest, we know views. But the Tuscan views are different and, yes, intense. The many shades of green contrast sharply with the patina of the buildings. It is all mountains, so the views are everywhere.  And, the view will be capped with a building that is hundreds of years old, still standing and still working.

Staying on a working farm in a two hundred year old villa put us right in the middle of the experience.  It is the only way to see Tuscany.
